Lawrence R. DeMarcay, Jr. Distinguished Service Award Nominations Now Open

The following criteria will apply to members who are nominated for the Lawrence R. DeMarcay, Jr. Distinguished Service Award. 


  1. Have attained the age of 50 and/or have at least 15 years of service in Louisiana REALTORS®.
  2. Have a valid real estate license as a broker or broker-salesperson and are currently active in the real estate industry.
  3. Candidates must have contributed outstanding service to the REALTOR® organization including leadership positions in the local Board and State Association, been recognized as a local leader whose performance of service and involvement in political and/or community activities is extraordinary. Candidates must be currently active at all levels of the Association.


PLEASE NOTE: The Distinguished Service Award will not be awarded posthumously.

Selection Guidelines:

  • Member Boards and elected members of the Louisiana REALTORS® Board of Directors may nominate candidates for the Lawrence R. DeMarcay, Jr. Distinguished Service Award. There can be more than one nominee per Board; however, the Awards & Recognition Team strongly encourages the Board to nominate only one person for the Distinguished Service Award per year.


  • The Awards & Recognition Team will review all nominations submitted for consideration and will eliminate candidates who do not qualify.


  • In the event the nomination is from a local Board, the President of the local Board must sign the nomination form.


  • Nominations are not carried over from year to year. Nominees from the previous year will not be automatically reconsidered.


  • All Distinguished Service Award forms submitted for consideration are kept strictly confidential. All materials submitted become the property of the Louisiana REALTORS® and will not be returned. After the Awards & Recognition Team determines the recipients, all materials are destroyed.


  • The deadline for receipt of all forms is March 28, 2025.


  • There is no charge or application fee for nominating a Distinguished Service Award candidate.
