Louisiana REALTORS® License Plates

Show off your REALTOR® pride every time you go for a drive! These specialty Louisiana REALTORS® license plates are the perfect way to identify and promote your REALTOR® status across the markets in which you serve. Furthermore, your purchase of this plate will help strengthen the REALTOR® family. All proceeds will go toward the Louisiana REALTORS® Disaster Relief Fund to help those who have been impacted by natural disasters.

Get your plate in a few simple steps.

You must provide proof of your NRDS ID via your NAR membership card and a completed consent form in order to purchase a plate.

Request A Plate Online

  1. Go to www.expresslane.org.
  2. Go to the "Vehicles" tab, and click "Plates."
  3. On the "Plates" landing page, select "Special/Personalized Plates" and then click "Specialty Plates."
  4. Once brought to the new screen, hit "Continue."
  5. Enter your current plate and then click "Continue."
  6. Click the "Organization/Service" category at the top and click "Louisiana REALTORS®" in the scroll down menu.
  7. Click "Ordering Details" and then "Order Form."
  8. Fill out the form and then print it out (You can right click and then press print).
  9. Gather your corresponding documents:
  10. A completed consent form
  11. A copy of your NAR membership card
  12. A copy of your current vehicle's registration
  13. Proof of insurance
  14. A check for the appropriate amount
  15. *If you are on the "Reserved Plate List," make sure that you also write your plate number at the top of your printed application
  16. Mail your application and all of the documentation listed above to:

  18. After all required documents are received and verified, your plate will be mailed to you.

Please reach out to your local office before visiting to ensure availability and to see if an appointment is required at that particular location. You will need to bring your driver's license, NAR membership card and proof of insurance with you if you are applying for a plate in person.

 Fees Involved

There are three categories of fees that a REALTOR® will be charged to obtain this license plate:

  • A royalty fee is required for this plate.  The proceeds of this fee go directly to the Louisiana REALTORS® Disaster Relief Fund to provide assistance to those affected by disasters.  
  • OMV collects an $8.00 handling fee on all non-renewal vehicle transactions, as well as a one-time $3.50 administrative fee for all specialty plates. There are also various convenience fees charged by OMV depending upon the payment method you select.


  • In order to issue this plate to your vehicle, OMV may be required to add additional months to your registration to give a full 2-year registration period. Any additional months would be factored into your total fees due. Credit for any months already applied to your vehicle registration will be given as well. 


  • Why do I have to provide proof of my NRDS number and how can I do that?

    Only REALTOR® members and affiliates in good standing are entitled to apply for and receive a plate. You can verify this by providing OMV proof of your NRDS number by presenting your NAR membership card. If you do not know your NRDS number, you can look it up here.

  • Can I have the Louisiana REALTORS® plate issued and put it on a vehicle registered in my spouse or child’s name? Neither are a REALTOR®.

    No, OMV will only issue the plate to a vehicle registered in the name of a REALTOR®.  However, OMV will issue the plate to a vehicle jointly registered to two people if one of the registered owners is a REALTOR®. If the REALTORS’ name does not appear on the registration, OMV will not issue the plate to be put on the vehicle.

  • My LLC or corporation is the registered owner of my vehicle. Can I have the Louisiana REALTORS® plate issued for this vehicle?

    Only if the REALTORS’ name is listed on the registration along with the LLC, corporation, etc. If the REALTORS’ name does not appear on the registration in addition to the corporation, LLC’s or other business entity’s name, OMV will not issue the plate to be put on the vehicle.

  • Can I pick the number I get on my plate?

    Unfortunately, no, unless you were previously placed on the Reserved Plate List. Otherwise, it is all part of a pool.

  • Is it possible for my specialty LR plate to also have a handicapped notation?

    A handicapped notation is not available for these plates, but you can still use a handicapped hang tag instead.

  • I have already paid my registration fees for my vehicle. Why am I being charged more to get my Louisiana REALTORS® plate?

  • Will I get my plate the same day as I go to an OMV office?

    Maybe. It will depend on if the office you visit has the plates in inventory.

  • Why do I have to consent to send my information to LR?

    Louisiana REALTORS® needs your information in order to be able to account for who in our organization has gotten a license plate, and we may need to send further documentation like a charitable donation receipt following your purchase.
