Louisiana REALTORS® successfully hosted their annual Spring Into Action Legislative Conference in Baton Rouge on April 8-10, 2024. The three-day event provided REALTORS® the latest in industry changing issues while engaging in conversations with the state’s legislators and their peers. The conference kicked off with a pre-conference design course At Home with Diversity with instructor Matthew Rathbun. That evening, the LARPAC fundraising event took attendees around downtown Baton Rouge with a Poker Run Pub Crawl. The next day, REALTOR® Day, began with a breakfast expo with tabletop one-on-one discussions with partners in the real estate industry. Attendees then had the option of attending a commercial industry session with Josh Cadillac or using technology in real estate with Matthew Rathbun. After a luncheon full of legislative updates from Louisiana REALTORS®, Dave Wasserman of The Cook Political Report and surprise appearance by Attorney General, Liz Murrill, attendees either headed to the Capitol for the first session of bill review or learned about overriding bias in the industry with Leigh York. After a successful visit to the Capitol, our REALTORS® enjoyed live music and crawfish at a reception with their Legislators and peers. During this reception, REALTOR® of the Year Award was presented. Congratulations to Mark Ouchley on receiving the REALTOR® of the Year Award. Other conference highlights included a reception for our YPN members, local leadership meetings, governance meetings and a Women's Council of REALTORS® luncheon. On Wednesday, David Favret was elected as the 2025 Secretary/Treasurer by the LR Board of Directors. Additionally, the following were elected to their 2025 positions by means of acclamation: Ginger Maulden, President-Elect; Chris Brock, Region I RVP; Reid Smith, Region II RVP; Scott McCubbin, Region III RVP; Sabrina Pierre, Region IV RVP; Bill Boyd, NAR Small Board; Misty Ingersoll, NAR Medium Board; Tony Cornner and Carole Horn, NAR State Allocated Specialty Directors. Louisiana REALTORS® looks forward to hosting REALTORS® from around the state at the Fall Governance Meetings and Installation, October 1-2, 2024. Take a peek of a quick recap on the day in the video and photos below.
