NFIP EXTENDED TROUGH SEPTEMBER 2019
The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) has been extended through September . On Monday, two days into the start of hurricane season, Congress passed the bill that stopped the program from expiring. This is the twelfth time in 2 years the program has been extended.
It’s no secret the program needs serious work - but with the extension through September, does that give Congress enough time to make the changes needed to make the program successful? Only time will tell.
A huge thank you to those closely involved in bringing about these recent extensions as well as the ongoing hard work to bring about change to the program.
