Louisiana REALTORS® is accepting applications for two state seats on the National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors for the term beginning in 2025 to be voted on by the Board of Directors of Louisiana REALTORS® on Wednesday, April 10th in Baton Rouge. The application can be found below the FAQs.
Candidates seeking this director position is required to meet all National Association of REALTORS® criteria listed below:
• Be a REALTOR® member in good standing, actively engaged in the business of real estate.
• Have served in some capacity within NAR governance, a state or local association, or NAR Institute, Society, or Council.
• Complete a written application that includes the following:
- Provide a statement describing their involvement in real estate, why they are seeking a position on the NAR Board of Directors, and what they believe they can contribute in their role.
- Commitment to supporting the mission, priorities, and core values of NAR.
- Acknowledge that the applicant will fulfill all duties and responsibilities of the role and
abide by NAR policies.
Any member who is in good standing and qualifies for the position may submit their name as a candidate.
Member boards and members of Louisiana REALTORS® Board of Directors are also encouraged to submit candidates.
The Louisiana REALTORS® Board of Directors elects these positions.
The Louisiana REALTORS® Board of Directors will hold the election for this position on April 10th at their meeting held in conjunction with the 2023 Spring into Action Conference in Baton Rouge.
The term is for 2025 unless there are future changes to the NAR Board of Directors
Any candidate elected to serve on the NAR Board of Directors also serves on the Louisiana REALTORS® Board of Directors for their term if they also meet the qualifications to serve on the Louisiana REALTORS® Board of Directors.
The election is taking place in April rather than September/October because NAR requires the names of all state-allocated NAR Directors to be submitted by September 15th or the state loses the seats for 2025.

Louisiana REALTORS® is accepting applications for 2 new state seats on the National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors for 2024 to be voted on by the Board of Directors of Louisiana REALTORS® on Wednesday, April 25th in Baton Rouge Louisiana. The National Association of REALTORS® requires one of these seats to be filled by a member who has his or her primary membership with a small local association (1-499 members) and the other to be filled by a member who has his or her primary membership with a medium local association (500 to 1999 members).
Candidates seeking these positions are required to meet all National Association of REALTORS® criteria listed below:
• Be a REALTOR® member in good standing, actively engaged in the business of real estate.
• Have served in some capacity within NAR governance, a state or local association, or NAR Institute, Society, or Council.
• Complete a written application.
The National Association of REALTORS® requires associations with 2,000 or more members, including NOMAR and GBRAR, to set their own procedures for filling NAR director seats allocated to them.
Please inquire with the leadership or staff of these local associations if you would like to find out more about NAR director seats allocated to either of them.
Any qualified member may submit their name as a candidate for one of these two seats. Member boards and members of Louisiana REALTORS® Board of Directors are also encouraged to submit candidates.

The Louisiana REALTORS® Board of Directors will hold the election for these positions on May 18th at their meeting held in conjunction with the 2022 Spring into Action Conference in Baton Rouge.
Qualified candidates will be informed of their position on the ballot (small or medium association ballot position) in the first week of May 2022. Positions on the ballot will be based upon the most recent 2022 local association membership counts.
One year.
Any member elected to serve in one of these seats would be ineligible to serve in the position the following year if his or her primary association total membership number increases or decreases and results in the local association being in another association size category. Therefore, these positions will be one-year positions elected each year.
• Any candidate elected to serve in one of these seats also serves on the Louisiana REALTORS® Board of Directors for their term if they also meet the qualifications to serve on the Louisiana REALTORS® Board of Directors.
